You guys – if you are looking to make a deliciously zesty cheese spread for your next Netflix binge-watching day (no judgment here!) then you’ve got to make this lime and honey cream cheese spread.
I got the inspiration for this irresistible spread from one of my favorite books, the Ultimate Appetizer Ideabook because in the book there was a recipe for jalapeno cream cheese. I didn’t happen to have any jalapeno’s on hand. However, I had some of the other ingredients that it called for, including honey and limes. So, I whipped up a batch, and well, our family of five didn’t make it through very many episodes before it was devoured.
I paired this yummy cheese spread with another unique topping: rosemary roasted grapes. They too are really easy to make and balance nicely together – however, you can get creative and figure out what your favorite topping is with this lime and honey cream cheese spread.
The ingredients are pretty simple, and you probably have most of them in your kitchen already. You’ll need one package of cream cheese, zest from one lime, the juice from one lime, 2 tablespoons of honey, and 1 teaspoon of garlic powder. Seriously, that’s it.
How to make Lime and Honey Cream Cheese Spread:
Ingredients
- 8 ounces of cream cheese
- zest of one lime
- juice from one lime
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
Instructions
Allow the cream cheese to soften to room temperature.
Place in a bowl and all of the ingredients. Using an electric mixer beat until combined and smooth.
Serve on top of your favorite crostinis or crackers; refrigerate any leftovers.
Isn’t it crazy how quick and easy it is to make your own spreads? And they taste so much better than many of the prepackaged ones you find in stores!
